Crikey, that is amazing, David. First, you tell me Garfield is a Hoosier, and now I learn that John Mellencamp is also from Indiana. Indiana certainly has some very famous sons.
I remember John Mellencamp from waaaaaay back. So far back, in fact, I think he went under another name. Am I wrong? What was it now? Can't seem to remember what his name used to be. Hold on, I think it's coming to me. Before becoming John Mellencamp, was his name Johnny Cougar? (ot something like that?) Yep, I think it was Johnny Cougar, waaaaay back in the 80s. Tell me if I'm wrong. Am I thinking of someone else, or are John Mellencamp and Johnny Cougar one and the same person?
You're thinking of the right person Kerry. He started off with the name Johnny Cougar, then John Cougar Mellencamp, and now he goes by the name John Mellencamp. I think I have those names in the correct order.
Yeah, he's been around for years. As you know, he's the artist of many great songs including "Jack and Diane", "R.O.C.K in the USA", "Hurts So Good" and "Small Town" (he was singing about his hometown of Seymour, Indiana).
I always thought he was very cute.
Well, Kerry, we might have Garfield, John Mellencamp and Michael Jackson hailing from Indiana, but all of you in Australia have Heath Ledger and Keith Urban (and many others)!!
