I grew up with General Cinema Theatres (GCC) in the 80's and it's really fun to see these again!  :D

Eric, THESE ARE GREAT!!!!! I LOVE it!!!

I managed a General Cinema movie theater from 1981-1984 (Castleton Square I II III) and I saw/heard these dozens of times every day!

What a blast from the past! I had no idea they posted these on youtube. I wonder how they found them?

And then way before that:

That was the General Cinema logo when I was a teenager back in the 1970's Phillip. We heard it all the time. It still sounds very familiar to me!  :D

God, I can't get enough of this thread. I keep revisiting it. All these wonderful General Cinema trailers are flooding me with memories; especially the ones from the 1970's and 1980's. Thanks you Eric and Phillip for giving this audio/visual scrapbook!  :D

I remember General Cinema was part of the Pepsico Corp. We only served Pepsi products such as Pepsi, 7-Up and Sunkist. I remember if someone asked for a "Coke", we had to ask "Is Pepsi okay"? LOL They were afraid of lawsuits I guess. Oh, and we served some disgusting, syrupy fruit punch and lemonade too. AWFUL tasting stuff, but it sold like hotcakes.

People had a fit when we raised the price of a pack of Twizzlers or a box of Junior Mints to .85 cents, and the price of a matinee ticket to $1.25. Can you believe that?? A jumbo bucket of popcorn was $1.50.

Those were some of the best days of my life, managing that movie theater. The pay was terrible and the hours were long, but it was my first REAL job, and I got to fly to Boston twice a year to attend company meetings. GCC was headquartered near Boston.

Thanks again for posting this thread!  :D

It's amazing how something as simple and silly as a General Cinema trailer can bring back so many memories!
