I was sorry to hear of the death of Daryl Dragon. I'll admit it: Back in the day, I liked their music.

But what is going on in the music or radio industry? I saw a TV commercial this morning for yet another "oldies" radio station in Philadelphia, "oldies" being defined as 1970's and 1980's (  :P  ). The commercial called the station Philly's "newest" radio station, whatever that means.

I liked their music too.   I remember listening to as a kid.  Loved "Love Will Keep Us Together".

I would think that for most radio audiences, 70s - 80s are 'oldies' now.  Next year is 2020, songs from 1980 that year will be 40 years old.

I grew up on their songs and had all the 45s.  (Except Muskrat Love; that was just strange.)  Even watched their TV show.  Didn't they have some synchronized swimmers?

In the 90s, I foolishly included "Love Will Keep Us Together" in a dance mix tape.  It promptly cleared the floor.
