So You Just Won the Lottery...now what?
« on: August 11, 2007, 11:01:53 pm »
I know, I know...you will "pay off bills, buy a house"..

but dig deeper. How would you change your life? What interests do you have that you would develop? What would that house look like? How would you feel?

What would your life look like if you DIDN'T have to devote so much of your energy to making living....

What I am thinking of right now is...

no most of us will never win the lottery. But isn't there something in those dreams we have that can be adapted for our lives now? If we really look?

My own thoughts if I won the lottery.

I would sell this farm...move us to another area of the country that is not so isolated. I would want a house that had large rooms and great views out the windows. I don't want a mansion....just a simple house with the only REAL luzury is space...big rooms and tall ceilings.

I would have animals...but no boarders. and no lesson people. I would devote time and money to charity..set up a place for disadvantaged children to learn to ride.

I would take art classes....explore and see if I have any talent. I would buy whatever art supplies I wanted (regardless of cost)

I would get my hair done every six weeks...maybe even my nails!!  :o

I would give my family money...my mother and my sister. but not my brothers. (my mother will give them the money I give her). I would buy her a house and get her help to care for her.

I'd buy some property in the foothills east of here, 5 or 6 acres maybe more, and build that log home with the river rock fireplace we've dreamed of for years.  Then I would build a kennel and get a vet on retainer and a couple of kennel keepers and I would run my own dog rescue.  If they had problems I'd fix em, I'd train em and find them loving homes and if that was not an option then I'd just keep them and let them live their days out in peace.   Eventually I might start breeding Goldens and maybe Dachshunds and showing them.  Maybe  :D

If I won the lottery...I would do everything that no one else will admit they would do.  I would live the most sybaritic, Dionysian lifestyle I could pay for.  Hey...it ain't gonna happen, so why not be honest about it :)

I love that answer Scott..it is so you!!!
        I love yours too Kelda,,
Jess it would be wonderful if you and Kerrycould both do it,  I know he has that artist dream
        too.

I would go an visit my brokie friends too...spend some extra time with each of them, that i have grown to care so much for... Then I too would love to travel.  My life time wish has been to visit Egypt and see the famous sites there. next the Wall of China,  Ayers rock in Australia,  Victoria Falls in Africa...I would take a group of friends on these wonderful trips.  My husband and Kelsey, my daughter, and ride the Orient Express from Paris to Moscow....What an adventure.!!!        ah well.

I'd give my house to one of the nursing assistants at work who probably have little chance of ever owning a home. Also one of the tougher ones who my nasty neighbor would not bother.  ;D

I'd give a bunch of money to my brother.

Then I'd buy a super awesome condo. Never work again. Have my pets. Be lazy, craft, read. (if I got bored, I'd come up with something but not work)

Travel and give money to charity. (mostly animal organizations)

But for me too, it will never happen. Oh well.
