I Wonder?

I wonder why we have sinuses? What good are they? Seriously!

I guess you mean: appart from the fact that they get to become clogged when you catch a cold? Not being a physiologist, I think it's about allowing air and fluids to pass from one region of the body to another without causing unnecessary and unhealthy pressure differences. But I think the practical real reason is to simply give you a sensation that you have a cold. Otherwise, how would you know?? ;)

I take it you're suffering from a sinus infection at the moment?
:)

Yes well anyway, in fact, we do. The body is filled with gaps and spaces between areas of the body for the purpose of balancing pressure. It's just that we call these chanels through bone: "sinus".

Well maybe not always specifically for "balancing pressure", but certainly for letting things pass through. There's a hole in your diaphragm to let the oesophagus pass through. And the gluteus (medius I think) has a hole to let the sciatic nerve to pass through. The point is we are very "holey" indeed! ;)
