Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!

Ahyup!  It's bowling night again!

I'm hoping that it will be an early night.  One of our teammates and our alternate are out of town, so it's just Frank and I.  :)  I'm hoping the team we're playing is missing someone, so it will be a nice, early night!  :)

Another busy day today at work, but I got all the important stuff accomplished and I think everything was done when I left.  If not, it will still be there tomorrow!

Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!

I am so glad it's the weekend!  Tomorrow I plan on sleeping in and probably never leaving the apartment.  LOL  Just a day to relax.

Sunday is a breakfast for me and dad for our birthdays.

Monday is a holiday, I'm thinking I may go to see "Selma", it is the appropriate day for it.  :)

Where are the days when even her feet were so tiny and cute I wanted to kiss them all the time?

Don't worry, it will come again when you're a grandmother. Sometimes I think my grandchildren are competing in the "Cutest Kid of the Year" competition!

Hiya BetterMost friends!!!!

Nice Saturday!  Slept in, did a mini-Charmed marathon, light shopping, cleaning the place, apartment now smells like split pea soup, which was made in my crockpot, and now relaxing for the evening.

Hope you're all having a great weekend!

"King Holiday" by King Dream Chorus & Holiday Crew

King Dream Chorus & Holiday Crew ~ King Holiday

King Holiday is an R&B/Hip hop single released in January 1986 by the King Dream Chorus and Holiday Crew. Composed by Phillip Jones, Kurtis Blow, Grandmaster Melle Mel and Bill Adler, it was released in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, which was first celebrated as a national holiday in the United States on January 20, 1986. All proceeds from the single were donated to the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change. The single peaked at #30 on the Billboard Hot Black Singles chart.

The project was spearheaded by Martin Luther King, Jr.'s youngest son Dexter Scott King, who is credited as the song's executive producer.

"King Holiday" was produced by Phillip Jones and Kurtis Blow. The song features:

King Dream Chorus (vocalists)

El DeBarge
Whitney Houston
Stacy Lattisaw
Lisa Lisa with Full Force
Teena Marie
Menudo
Stephanie Mills
New Edition
James "J.T." Taylor (from Kool & the Gang)

Holiday Crew (rappers)

Kurtis Blow
The Fat Boys
Grandmaster Melle Mel
Run–D.M.C.
Whodini

Once a year we celebrate -  Washington and Lincoln on their birthdates.
And now a third name is added to the list,  A man of peace, "Drum Major for justice".
Now every January on the third Monday,  We pay homage to the man who paved the way
For Freedom, Justice and Equality,  To make the world a better place for you and me.
It's a holiday! It's a gathering!   For the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King!

Dr. King tried to love somebody.   Do you wanna love somebody?
For his sake put your hate away, Take a day...   Take a day to love somebody.
Don't play on the Holiday, work to find a better way.   Everybody love somebody now.
Everybody sing for Martin Luther King.   Let freedom ring for Martin Luther King!

Holiday! Holiday! King Holiday!   Not a day just for some,
It's a day for everyone.
He had a dream now it's up to you.
He had a dream now it's up to you.   To see it through, To make it come true!

Who do we thank for teaching us   That we all have the strensth to love?
we thank the Prince of Non-Violence for  showing um the way.
How do we show the children of today   How do live together at one?
We'll sing of a King   And his words will light all of our tomorrows.

Listen children of today, Don't think love has gone away.  It's in your hearts and minds
How long? Not long? New day will shine, if we just take the chance.
His love will glow. Open up the windows!

Let the hero shine   Every day in your life,  Yours and mine.  Everybody shine.
For the future generation, Dr. King's medication,  For successful operation, is PEACE FOR EVERY NATION!

Sing! Celebrate!
Sing! Sing! Celebrate!
For a King Celebrate!
Sing! Sing! Celebrate!

 Hiya BetterMost friends.

How is everyone?  I hope you had a great weekend!!

I originally planned on seeing "Selma" today, it seemed appropriate to do so.  However, the weather screwed those plans up royally.

Yesterday all day we had an icy rain in the area.  According to the news, there were over 400 accidents in the state that day, despite many announcements for people to stay home.  My family opted to stay home and not face the weather, so we're all safe.  There were at least two multiple car pile-ups that closed highways.

So that meant Sunday became my rest day.  Today became the laundry day, which meant I couldn't see Selma today.

Oh well!

Spending the rest of the evening relaxing before work returns tomorrow.

Yeah, more bear hugs today, because I'm in that kind of mood.  LOL

Thank God today was a slow day at work.  Both my coworkers called out sick, so I was responsible for everything today.

However, while email volume remained what it usually is, the  phone calls were almost non-existant, so  that  helped a great deal.

  Hiya BetterMost friends.

Well, we were supposed to have snow today, but so far, no snow show!  LOL

However, this weekend we're supposed to have a big storm.  Not sure if it will happen or not, but I'm planning to be ready.  Shopping and laundry will be done on Friday, this way, I can spend the whole weekend in the apartment if I choose to.

:D :D :D

I do think I'll pick up the ingredients needed to make some meatballs.  Since I won't be at home, I can have my own Italian meal on Sunday.  :)

  Hiya BetterMost friends.

Remembering Heath Ledger today.

Hope that everyone is having a good day.  It was a good day today, wasn't too busy, and I stayed on top of everything.

Tomorrow is Friday, and pay day.  :)
