y'all remember Casey Casem and his "long distance dedications"? During his American Top 40 countdown each Sunday, he would read a message from someone, and then play a dedication from them to whoever their message was directed at.
I have my own dedication today.
It's for a friend who feels like they've lost their way. Crossroad in front of them, no idea of which way to go. Alone and afraid, darkness is all that's in front of them, feeling like they are stuck in an "in between" place, not really belonging anywhere.
I've talked to my friend, and told them I've been there, and they'll get through. We all know that doesn't matter, however. When you are not the one feeling this way, it's easy to say. And when you are the one feeling this way, sometimes, there is nothing anyone can say to make it better.
I wish there was more that I could do, but all I can do is say what I've said before. I've been there. You're right, it's lonely and scary. It gets better, and you'll make it through. You've got my ear, my shoulder, and my hand whenever you need them. Love you!
