I loved Glamourous Life!
Wasn't her dad a real famous percussionist also?

Yes, her dad is Pete Escoevdo.  He was a member of Santana for 3 years, touring and recording with them.  When he left Santana, he and his brother formed Azteca, and recorded two albums under that name.  He then recorded a number of solo albums.

You can find out more about him, here.

Tell him when l come up to him and ask to play the record, l'm gonna say: ''Voulez-vous jouer ce disque?''
'Voulez-vous, will you kiss my dick?'
Will you play my record? One-track mind!

I always have loved that song "The Glamourous Life" too! I never quite understood why "Morning Train" made such a big hit, but I guess it is ok. It just doesn't say a lot other than that he goes to work on a train and she waits for when he gets home.

True.  But it does have a good upbeat rhythm.  Probably good listening for drivers stuck in traffic on their way to work.

Everything is well Chuck. How about with you? And you are right dejavu it does have an upbeat rhythm. It would probably work well for people riding on the train too as well as for those waiting for them.

Since you are the expert on dance songs, I wanted to share this one with you by a group from Brazil named Axe Bahia. I posted it on my blog, but I wasn't sure if you would see it there. As far as I know they have not made it into the US, but came out about the same time as Shakira.

The music was definitely what attracted me. I like their sound. I have a CD by them and all the songs are upbeat. I can see them eventually becoming popular in the US.
