Well, here I am, back in NJ after spending the past few days in L.A., with Brokies!

It was wonderful to meet some members I haven't yet (Junior, O2BeInLA), reconnect with members haven't seen in some time (Scott, Mary, EnnisDelMark, Nova, Lyle (Mooska) ) and see the friends I see more frequently than others (DontWantToSayGB, BCatJr, Teresa, MichaelFlanaganSF, BayCityJohn).

I sent a PM to another member before, saying "never enough time", that I get to see sooooo many people at the gatherings, but because there are sooo many people to see, the quality of time is sometimes not what I hope.  Between wanting to see everyone, and everyone wanting to see everyone else, it can be hectic, but well worth it.

I watched the laughing, the craziness, the crying, the attempted herding of cats, plans gone awry, plans that went off without a hitch, and everything else in between, and had a ton of fun!

Now....onto my L.A. memories and quotes......

Late night dinner or very early breakfast with gnash (Jimmy) and Dennis, and discussions of chocolate chip pancakes.

"Who's Cocoa?"

Talking to Rich (LoneLeeB3) on the phone when MichaelFlanagan arrived, and passing the phone to Michael so they could chat.

An eye opening shopping trip with Michael and Jimmy one night.   >:D

The meet and greet at Plummer Park, and the fact that Michael and I couldn't find ice for the luncheon.

The place where we finally got the ice had a name (I can't remember what it was) that Michael felt was good for funeral palor.

The Jake Tour!

"Aye dios Mio!  Es Jésus!  Santa Maria!"

Rooming with Michael Flanagan, we had great talks, and many laughs!

"I believe I was promised a cupcake!  Where's my Red Velvet Cupcake?"

The wedding!!!!!  Member GairR2000 attended this weekend with her daughter Audra (who we met in S.F.) and Audra's partner, Kristen.  Audra and Kristen wanted it 'kept quiet', they didn't want to make the weekend about them.  They arranged to get married that weekend, and did so on Monday.  It was a brief, but very sweet ceremony, atteneded by GailR2000, Teresa, myself, and Sid401K.  ;D

"Are you talking about Award Winning Actress, Reese Witherspoon?"

Calling Truman (ShakesTheGround) and having everyone sing Happy Birthday to him through speaker phone.

DontWantToSayGB (Ted) getting friendly.....very friendly....with our hottie waiter at dinner.  ;D

Dancing at the club "Rage".

Driving Brokies around in my car, listening to MichaelFlanagan's CDs.  He broadened my musical tastes, and let me borrow two CDs.

Phillip, who would shout out people's screen names as they passed by in his cute accent!  "CellarDweller"!  "TellYouWhat"!

The performances at the House Party in Hollywood.  Such gifted performers, and they truly touched their audience.  There was no way we could thank them enough, and that includes our hosts for the night.  They were generous with their home, food, and time and were so happy to have us there.  Thank you so much for everything!!!

Seeing The Dark Knight with all the Brokies.  Heath gave a great performance!

Shopping for a belt that had a buckle that can be taken off.  I had two special buckles to wear that weekend.  One a gift from a friend, and one a Brokeback Mountian buckle, and I found a belt and was able to wear them both.

"No more Jessica Simpson pics in "Le Bar", or I will have to kill you, Chuckie!"  :D :D :D

"Herding Cats!"

The Farmers Market and The Grove.  Great places to shop.

"This Abercombie & Fitch is the gayest one I've ever seen!"

The viewing of Brokeback Mountain.  Seeing the huge crowd of people to see it was wonderful.

Diana Ossana and the Q & A after the show.  Diana was personable, sweet, answered all the questions, and signed autographs for everyone who wanted one.  The expression on her face when she discovered that John was wearing Heath's/Ennis' shirt was something to see.  And then when she saw I was wearing a replica of the buckles the cast and crew got, she pointed and said "I remember those!!!!".

The emcee who introduced the movie.  He mentioned our forum, and the fact that one of our members traveled from Germany to be there that evening.  He then read letters from Peter McRobbie (John Twist), producer James Schamus, and director Ang Lee, who said in his letter "Does 'Great to be nominated?' mean 'Should have won?' " to which everyone applauded.  Just before everyone stopped clapping, I shouted out "You bet!" and got some laughs from the brokies.

;D

The dinner afterwards at the Silver Spoon, such a great place, and great dinner, and great way to end the trip for me!  I moved from table to table and got to see pretty much everyone, and was able to get many hugs!

Seeing EnJaRoux (Ruby), Teresa and Ben Franklin (Frank) again.  Gave me memories of my Wyoming Road Trip.

Getting the "Mod/TDS/Tech" piccy at the House Party.  ;D

Q:  "Well....do angels have sex?"
A:  "I don't know, but she doesn't look happy."

Sooooo much to discuss!  It was a great 5 days!  ;D

Thank you so much Chuckie for your report! :-*

I would give something to have been there that evening with the BBM screening and Diana Ossana. Love that girl.
Heck, I would have loved to be there for the whole gathering of course. Nothing better than being together with Brokies for real. (But I don't complain, I'll go for a EuroBrokie meeting tomorrow, yay! :D)

There was a wedding? :o Gail's daughter married? Wow, that's great to hear. Gotta email her some congrats and good wishes for the newlyweds.

Any pics (not from the wedding, but from the weekend)?

Happy Thursday, BetterMost!!!!

Well, I'm back at my cubicle, missing Brokies!   :'(

One consalation is that it appears that my cubicle has remained clean while I was away, no major explosions to deal with.

;D

Hiya Chrissi and Meryl!  Thanks for stopping by my blog!

I'll be posting pics of the trip this weekend!
