Good Morning BetterMost!!!!
Damn.......7:30am on a SATURDAY. I must be out my damn mind!
On my way to the DMV to renew my liscense and registration!
Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
Well, it's time for my favorite sport season to begin!
No, not football! Figure skating!
When all goes right, and the skater pulls off a clean performance, both technically and artistically, a gold medal is theirs. A great example is the video below of Sasha Cohen at the Skate Canada competition a few years ago. She is one of the more beautiful skaters around today, check out her positons in her spins and spirals to see what I mean.....her extensions are the best in the sport today.

However, because figure skating is a judged sport, with artistic qualities to it, it is often seen as an "easy" sport, or not a sport at all.
Figure skaters have received serious injuries during practices and competitions alike. Sprained ankles, dislocated knees, pulled muscles, broken bones, cracked ribs, concussions, even slashes that require stitches, when they slice themselves on a partner's (or their own) blade from their skates.
Practice sessions always have 6 to 8 skaters practicing on the ice at the same time, and collisions occur as well.
Still think it sounds easy? Check out the video below, called "Figure Skating, A Dangerous Sport"
