The other day, we had our anual cherry harvest and jam-cooking fest
.
I was pitting cherries for five hours!
We started at three and ended the whole thing at 8pm.
Hubby and one daughter picked the cherries; I and the same daughter pitted them; my son ran the mincer (which we use for the cherries, not for meat) and the other daughter was our stand-by-man, meaning she was lazy and mostly kept out of the whole thing, but was on the spot whenever I called her. And hubby cooked the jam at the end of the day.
I had my daughter taking some pics:

Our work station. Left row, from bottom to top: cherries, plate with pitted cherries, stones. Right row, top to bottom: cherry pitter (which was used by my daughter, she pitted one cherry for every four I pitted, it's much faster when done by hand), mincer, and a plate with cherry mush.
