No cherry cake. I was so fed up with cherries, I didn't keep a single one after our Kirschfest, I gave them all away. Later it occurred to me that I could have put some already pitted cherries into the freezer and bake a cherry cake whenever I can see cherries again ::).


They were all from one tree. We have a huge cherry tree in our small back yard. It came with the house. Nobody in our family eats fresh cherries, but it would be a shame to let them go to waste.

I did once.

I even thought of making cherry icecream that day, but didn't have any cream in my fridge, additionally to being fed up with cherries.


Great ideas everyone! :D
Next year I'll make sure to put a part of the cherries into the freezer, so I can make cake and icecream on a later date. And try the liqueur.
