very cute!

And I cant believe how big he 'cornet' is! I was expecting something much smaller - there must have been lots of nice things in it!!!

Here I am, we've made it through this exciting day :D.

My son could hardly wait this morning. Usually, the kids are not allowed to open their Schultüte (cornet with sweets+prezzies) until they return from their first school day. But he had waited for so long (for months), that I allowed him to peek into it and look at the items on top.
Then the relatives came, then off to church (which is voluntary). Then to the schoolyard. But still he wasn't allowed to go into the school (he almost couldn't believe it, he wanted to start finally); there was some welcome program beforehand. Finally, he was allowed in. All parents and relatives accompanied the kids, took pictures, etc. After the first 15 minutes of class, we were sent out.

The first thing Oliver said when we picked him up afterwards was "Mommy, my first school day was super!" :D

He had a great day and is totally happy. Me too :D.

Here you can see his Schultüte (how about kids in your countries? Do they also get prezzies and sweets? Or is this a specific German tradition? I couldn't find a translation for Schultüte, so I think this is a German thing)

Brokeback is airing tonight on Swedish television. On primetime.
I think I´m gonna treat myself to a good homecooked meal tonight and a bottle of wine, while watching.

Do they dub it into Swedish or show it with subtitles?

It's difficult for me to imagine Ennis and Jack speaking Swedish.

How do you say, "Shit, that's hard," in Swedish?  ???

No, we never dub anything over here. Thank god!
Hearing Ennis and Jack speaking Swedish would be a traumatizing experience for sure. :)

I don´t think I´ve ever watched the movie with Swedish subtitles either, so it´ll be fun to see how they have translated it.

Shit, that´s hard...

Brokeback a la Sweden.

Congratulations on 8,000 posts, Chrissi!
My, you're a gabby Heathen. What luck for us!  :-*

I think I´m gonna treat myself to a good homecooked meal tonight and a bottle of wine, while watching.

I came home tonight, turned on the telly, flipped channels, got as far as STV1 and a certain two someones in the process of herding their sheep up the mountain for the first time, - and got no further tonight. I didn't know it was on. But now I know what Brokeback subtitles in Swedish look like. Some of the words, like the one they used for "queer" and the "stemming the rose" translation I would *so* not have understood at all out of context.

*sigh* Movie still as amazing as ever!!

I also admit I do worry a little bit that I still can have this one film grip me as intently as ever after nearly four years.

Four years, damn!  :P

ETA: That translator was kind of lazy. He/she didn't even *try* to get the condiments/ketchup exchange across. Just cut it down to "Where is Alma?" "She's in the ketchup aisle."

I didn´t know that you could watch SVT. Cool!
The subtexts weren't very good. They used words that Ennis would never use. Some stuff was outright funny.
I'm thinking about getting a t-shirt that says "Jack Snusk!" for sure

yes it really is amazing, ain't it? I don't know how many times I've seen it by now, but I was still glued to the television. This time around I was struck by how friggin beautiful Heath was, and also by how well-placed the music is throughout the movie.

I feel all "brokiefied" at the moment! ;D

Me and Sonja talked for a long while after the movie, sharing our impressions. We both agree that our feeling after having seen the movie, keeps changing over time. It´s an interesting journey.
