I didn't see any UP trains while I was there, but I saw a ton of BNSF...101 car trains full of coal.

U.P. crosses the southern part of the state--Cheyenne, Laramie, Green River, and so forth: the original transcontinental railroad. I don't know what line that became part of BNSF serviced the Powder River Basin--maybe the old Chicago & North Western.
