Thanks, Meryl. I'm halfway through the film now and had to have a little break, just as we meet the Newsomes for the first time, - so I'm on my way back to the DVD now by way of BM. And definitely getting closer to the floor in a good (= sad *deep breath*) way.

Plus, I sense a strong and real fondness for Monroe in the few scenes where he appears. I just want to hop into the film and hug the dear man, condiments and ketchup and all. Wonder why?

I know I can't watch the movie now without a warmer feeling for Monroe than I ever used to have.  Our PT (and your Monroe) has forever flavored my BBM experience!

When my Grandpa turned 90 (he died when he was 95 years old) I asked him if he didn't feel bad outliving all his peers. And he told me. "Sure, I do. I've outlived them all, and miss them too but I've also made new ones!", which was true.

Natali, that's what my grandmother had to do too.  In her 90s, all her friends were in their 70s.  I'm following her modelling, friends of all ages! 

Gosh, everyone is taking off and going somewhere... except me! 

Me neither, David.  We can live it vicariously through them, til it's our turn to travel too.
