If you like Monty Python, I think you'd like The Brothers Grimm. I'm not a Python fan, and the movie turned out to be not quite my cup of tea, even with both Heath and Matt Damon in it.

And let's not forget that Heath and Matt almost have a 'Brokeback' moment in that movie!

Matt Damon (in that above picture) looks too cute to have played Ennis.      Jake was the pretty boy in that film.  While Heath surely is handsome in BBM, he has a more rugged western look and natural feel to him.     And to have Matt and Jake together would have made for two pretty boys and made it less realistic.   Does that make sense?

If you go by the descriptions in the story, I agree they were both too pretty.  But since they acted the hell out of the roles, I forgive them their good looks.

First of all, no way does Matt Damon ever look cuter than Heath. In that picture or anywhere else.  I have enormous respect for Matt Damon as an actor -- so much so that I have come to find him somewhat attractive. Truth be known, I hated The Brothers Grimm but in those pre-Brokeback days I actually found Matt Damon's character the more interesting of the two. And if Matt had been cast as Ennis, I'm sure he would have done an excellent job, because he's a good actor -- though nowhere near as good as Heath was in that role.

But cuter?!??? 

And Jake the pretty boy in the film?  LOL

OK, now I have officially descended to the level of message boards that I had seen before and made me not even bother to check out imdb's board for two weeks after seeing BBM.

The Patriot was the first Heath movie I saw. He's real purty in it, but I found some of the film preposterous (What can I say? I majored in early American history, and never mind Mel Gibson ...).

mel seems to have a habit of staring in hostorical films which are factually incorrect - don't get me started on braveheart!

I agree that Heath had a rugged western look. It seems like Heath's true cowboy self came out in the movie. And he looks different than he does in his other movies. He really is Ennis del Mar. Jake, on the other hand, looks less cowboyish, and way too pretty IMO but it could be my perception since, except for the cowboy outfit, he didn't look all that different than in other movies. That's the thing with Jake. He is a wonderful actor but he looks like Jake Gyllenhaal in all his movie. Heath is more chamaleonic.
