A beautiful sunny day here in Maine. 60 degrees right now.

Happy Labor Day weekend everyone!

no labor day weekend for me... but I am making myself a treat:  gluten free pizza!  this will be my first actual pizza since fall of 2005 when I found out I was gluten intolerant.

Loooong time to go without a pizza!

Mmmmh, Louise, that pizza looks yummy! I think I couldn't stand two years without pizza.

I thought of you today while doing the groceries: real has now a special compartment of frozen goods: gluten-free (frozen) goods. They have pizza (yup, saw it just two hours ago), Tiramisu, Brötchen and god knows what else.
So the next time you're in Germany, this might be a helpful tip.

The world in general is getting more aware of gluten problems and providing a lot more foods and support.  The best place for gluten free food products (and the best brands!) are at DM Drogerie, which I make a beeline for whenever I go to Germany.  But it is good to know they are starting to supply frozen products as well.    I have gotten used to baking my own bread - and pizza as you see here - because the prices in Britain are so outrageous.  They aren't quite so bad in Germany.

I expect to be moving in the next week or so (more pics to take!!!) and if there isn't a breadmaker there I'm going to have to go buy one.

Morning all,

Another lovely day! The weather just doesn't quit around here right now, which is fine with me. 56 degrees, not a cloud in the sky. Beautiful.

Let's play lighthouse again, shall we?

Name?

Location?

What order fresnel lens?

And bonus points for another bit of trivia about this lighthouse. I have something specific in mind.

Ding ding! Another winner!

Good trivia, David. The other thing that I was thinking of: Pemaquid is the lighthouse on the Maine quarter.
