Why am I up at 4:31 am posting the Top Twelve list?

I'm driving up to Provincetown for the day.    It is exactly 4 hours door to door.      Today is the annual Antique car show there.

There is nothing like it.   All kinda of cars from big finned Cadillacs to Nash Metropolitans.     Mid day features a motorcade style parade thru Commercial street with the cars filled with everyone from hunky sailors to drag queens.       Sometimes I've had a hard time explaining why there were feather boa remnants in my cars.   LOL.

David, I wish I knew you were heading to Ptown today.  I would have invited you to lunch!

BTW, I saw a beautiful 1976 Mercury Colony Park station wagon all clad in fake wood at the Herring Cove beach parking lot and thought of you.  It even had Connecticut plates.  (I didn't see any boa feathers in the car, just a studded leather jacket.  Was that you after all?)

I hope you had a good time at the parade.

Paul

That poor woman! It's outrageous that she would be called out and humiliated (and even threatened with having to switch flights!!!) over her outfit.  And, Leslie, great idea to point out how flight attendants have been treated and objectified over the years.  It makes this situation seem more hypocritical than it already was to begin with.

I have been thinking about this story this afternoon and I cannot recall ever hearing about a person being told s/he was inappropriately dressed for an airplane flight. Ever.

This really is a low point for Southwest Airlines.

It's nice to hear that she stood up for herself and didn't let them kick her off her flight!

The whole thing really is pretty unbelievable.

*Louise hangs on grimly to her spot at #10!!!*

And good morning (just barely).  I conked out last night at about 10:15 p.m. while playing with Leslie and Kelly in chat and am still having trouble focusing my eyes!
And did I mention - another grey cool day in Britain?  Grey grey grey!!!

Morning all,

It rained overnight which seemed to clear out the terrible hot weather. 63 degrees this morning with grey skies and more rain predicted.

Hi Paul!

I know that wagon.   It belongs to my friend Jon who is in our car club.     He was at the show yesterday too.     As for the studded leather jacket....  well it is Ptown you know!    LOL.          And you don't need much more than sun tan lotion on at Herring Cove beach.   At least not at the section I go to.    8)

Were you there this weekend?     It would have been nice to meet you.       My trip was a short one.   Even leaving my house at 5:30 am, I didn't get there until around 9:30.      I went right up to the monument for the show and then walked down to Commercial street for the parade at 2pm.     By 3pm I hit the road for my 4 hour drive back.     Which was good as I pulled in my driveway just as the sun fully set.    If I had sunday off I would definately had stayed over.     Maybe next year if the vacation gods are smiling in my favor.

Sorry I missed you.  I'm here many weekends (it's only two hours from Boston).

Let me know next time you're planning a trip--I'd love to meet you.

Actually, the boat takes 90 minutes; driving takes 2 hours, and I like having a car here.

BTW, the dish in the middle picture is our own "Lady Di":  town hall employee and good-will ambassadress and local radio personality.
