It is very pretty looking at my backyard right now...blue sky, pristine white snow without any footprints or tracks, lots of sun pouring down. Now I just need the red cardinals to show up at the feeder!

Sounds like you had more of a mess than we did, David. Everyone worried about the sleet and freezing rain but that didn't happen right here in my little pocket of Maine. I just heard on the radio that power outages were minimal throughout the state.

One weird thing...last night, while I was watching the news (6 pm)...it was 18 degrees and snowing here in Portland, while in Rockland, which is northeast of us (about 70 miles aways) it was 35 degrees and raining!

The forecast is for below normal temperatures all week. Brrr...!

It's been on the news here all day. A terrible winter storm has hit eastern Canada and the northern parts of the US.

Meanwhile, we're having sub zero temperatures too....lucky for us, that's minus 4 degrees Celsius!

I drove Hannah to school and then headed downtown to my office. I have to say, the streets in Portland were not in great shape. I have a parking lot at my office. It is a city lot and when there is a parking ban (as there was yesterday) cars can park there to get off the street. There were still a few cars there are 9:30 am this morning (they are supposed to be out by 7). The lot had been plowed once, but was still in pretty crummy shape, so I decided to just come home and work from my kitchen table...where I am now.

The operative word is work. I have a terrible habit of getting distracted when I am here at home!

9 degrees this morning. They are predicting more snow today. Depending on which way the storm tracks, we could get 2 inches or a foot! I'll keep you posted!
