Optom, it's frightening just to read your posts about the preperation and the waiting. Keep safe and (if you can) keep us posted.

Take care Fiona! And stay safe!

One bit of good news I just heard - the storm is not forecast to become a hurricane. Fay is too close to the Florida coast, and there's too much interaction with land at this point. So, unless they change things, it will remain a tropical storm, cross over the Florida peninsula and out into the Atlantic as a tropical depression. At least this is what I heard Chad Meyers on CNN say just a little while ago.

In any event, continue with your storm preparations, just to be on the safe side. But it sounds like things are not going to be quite as bad as originally forecast a day or two ago. :D

Morning all,

I'm here in Maine where it's 67 degrees and looking a little cloudy this morning. No signs of any tropical storms, however. Thankfully!

No signs of tropical storms here, either, but I swear I'm starting to see hints of fall: the first dropped acorns and ginkgo berries, and on Sunday I saw a maple that looked as though some of its leaves were starting to turn, not brown and dry, but yellow and red around the edges.

I've noticed a few trees that have color in their leaves. Where does the time go?

I am so glad I spent most of yesterday lugging all the lanai furniture in !!!  So now it's a tropical storm, which in Engalnd is just normal weather, get your welly's on and resign yourself to getting wet when you walk the dog !!!
That sounds like I am underestimating hurricanes, I am not, I know they ruin thousands of people lives.I  just wish now it is downgraded to a tropical storm they would stop going on about it.
Plus I am stuck with 3 bored kids at home !!!
