Awww! I love your new kitty, Leslie!! She reminds me of one of those statuesque ancient Egyptian cats with her slender face and tall ears! I can see why you named her Sootie! With her fur coloring she almost looks like a chimney sweep cat!

The temperatures reach records in Germany. It hasn't been so cold for 22 years.
Coldest temp last night was -26°C (-15°F) in Dresden. A woman suffering dementia escaped from a nursing home and froze to death .

In my yard, it was -9°C this morning (15°F).

Things are rainy and icy here in Pittsburgh and I have a dreadful cold.  I stayed home from work yesterday, and this morning I tried to go into work only to turn right around and come home by 11 am.  I think I'm going to stay home again tomorrow.  I'm just a gross mess at the moment.

Well you all need to come over here to Florida for a trip.It is in the high 70"s here, and dry. I have a spare room with Mandy leaving today. I do have as you all know a rather odd life, so best pack the flak jackets and ear plugs. !!!!

37 and rainy by me in NJ.....there was a little ice about....but it's melting now.

Melting. I like that. I wish we could have some of that. I'm sick of the snow already.

My daughters and I spent a good hour this afternoon shovelling snow from the pavement and the driveway. By law you are required to clear the pavement in front of your house over here. If you don't you can be fined and you're liable if someone falls and gets injured.

It's the polite thing to do really. I feel sorry for all the pedestrians and cyclists who have to walk/ride on a snow covered pavement or bike path.

Still friggin cold here. 
This morning we were in the two digit negative temperatures for the first time in - I dunno, I can't remember it being so cold ever. Normally we hear about such temps in other parts of Germany, but we don't have them ourselves.

The cold weather in Europe is making the news over here. Forget ice storms in the midwest, I was hearing about snow falling in Marseilles!
