Good Morning All Y'all.
Muchas Gracias for the Birthday Kudos.
Yes, the weathermen here in CT do call these storms Nor'Easters. They love the old New England colloquialism of it I guess. It is a true Nor'Easter as it is blowing in that way and dumping alot of snow on us. Plenty of drifting of the snow too. The temperature line has been the issue. The storm keeps fluctuating from to sleet and freezing rain. A lovely mix. Nothing like being pelted in the face with sleet when its blowing near horizontal.
Here I sit sipping my first cuppa Joe (coffee) and looking out the window. The wind has stopped for a while. The City hasn't come back to plow again. So the roads are pretty unplowed except for that first pass last night. I woke up at 1:30 am to the sound of a car stuck in the snow a few houses down at an intersection. The first thing I thought of is that would have been me if I were still working the 3:30 AM Airport shift trying to get to work! They were getting a push from someone, so I went back to bed. But it looks like I'll need to go back out and shovel again before work. It should be nice and frozen over by now.
With all the cancelled flights, I'm sure the terminal will be mobbed with people trying to rebook flights. And re-booked flights usually means that the passengers are tagged for additional screening. So we will have long lines as everyone waits to get patted down and their bags hand searched. Trust me, we hate that as much as the passengers do. Time consuming extra work because the airlines computers can't tell the difference between a passenger re-booking due to weather vs. a terrorist buying a ticket at the last minute.
OK, time to go get that second cup of coffee and then grab my snow shovel.
Have a good one fellow Brokies!
