Brokeback Memorabilia

morrobay:
I think you should open them and enjoy the pictures.  I have the 2008 calendar (opened), and the pics are really great.

$500 is not a lot of money, it IS a pretty good ROI for a $50 item - but -

Ask yourself:  If you leave them sealed, will they be worth enough to put your kids or grandkids through college, or something else really worthwhile?  If not, why not enjoy them?

Sason:
LOL   Luckily I live in a country where education is free (Sweden), but I get your point, bf.  :D

I'm leaning towards opening them, but we'll see.

morrobay:
That's why I said education, OR something else worthwhile.  Is $500 going to make a difference in your life over the long haul?

Not to mention the fact that these are already 8 years old and only going for little over face value.  Madonna memorabilia is a much higher priced commodity than Brokeback items, with the exception of the shirts/hats/jackets, etc.  I think the calendars will not appreciate much over time to make it worthwhile to leave them sealed.

This is our movie!  Something that we have taken unlimited enjoyment, and sadness and understanding, from. Enjoy the pictures.  Frame them or just look at them.  You're not gonna retire in luxury on their future value.

P.S.  I have an opened 2008 calendar that I would love to send you, if you truly can't bear to open yours.   :-*

Sason:
Thank you so much, but that won't be necessary!

Very generous and kind of you, though!  :-*

Love that! Very well put, bf!  :)

CellarDweller:
I didn't keep my calendars.  I had the two, opened them, used them at work, and when the years were over, discarded them.

I understand why people would keep them, but I just looked at them differently......they were images we had seen over and over again.   If it had been a calendar of deleted scenes or 'behind the scenes' shots, I would've kept them.
