Songs that remind us of Heath....
ednbarby:
Heard this one on the radio on my way home from work today, and certain lines really struck me. I realize it's about John Lennon, but it applies.
Empty Garden ~ Elton John
What happened here,
As the New York sunset disappeared?
I found an empty garden among the flagstones there.
Who lived here?
He must have been a gardener that cared a lot,
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop.
And now it all looks strange.
It's funny how one insect can damage so much grain.
And what's it for,
This little empty garden by the brownstone door?
And in the cracks along the sidewalk nothing grows no more.
Who lived here?
He must have been a gardener that cared a lot,
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop.
And we are so amazed! We're crippled and we're dazed....
A gardener like that one, no one can replace.
And I've been knocking, but no one answers.
And I've been knocking, most all the day.
Oh and I've been calling, oh hey, hey, Johnny!
Can't you come out to play?
And through their tears,
Some say he farmed his best in younger years.
But he'd have said that roots grow stronger, if only he could hear.
Who lived there?
He must have been a gardener that cared a lot,
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop.
Now we pray for rain, and with every drop that falls
We hear, we hear your name.
And I've been knocking, but no one answers.
And I've been knocking, most all the day.
Oh, and I've been calling, oh hey, hey, Johnny!
Can't you come out to play,
In your empty garden?
Johnny?
Can't you come out to play, in your empty garden?

How poignant and beautiful!!
Gabreya:
"Is This The End"-Creed
Lately, I've been hearing one my favorite rock bands that unfortunately no longer together, Creed. I was listening to their song, "Is This The End", which is from the Scream 3 soundtrack and the song is very emotionally moving. This song and "One Last Breath" moves me. It makes me think about Heath. It makes me sad when I think about him when I listen to this song, but happy because he's free from all the sufferings of the world. The song also makes me think about Jake and how he's feeling. This song makes think of how each of them must've felt and their friendship. :( It chokes me up to think how it must've been for them.
The rage in my eyes
Could have compared to the eye of a sun
Then rain
Took its course through the hands of the Son
Repent for all time
The world is at war leaving all fault behind
So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?
The stains in the sky
Are there to remind us of man and his fight
When two worlds collide
One steals the life like a thief in the night
So to the sky
He holds the keys to your life and mine
So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?
Well as though we rise
As the day breaks the dawn
As the moon hides the sun
Oh, the sun
No more sorrow
All those crying days are gone
No more sorrow, now it's gone
Now it's gone
Now it's gone
So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?
So, is this the end for us my friend?

I love Creed and this song, too, Gabreya. One Last Breath used to remind me mostly of my own battle with depression that damn near killed me, and now it makes me think of Heath, instead. :(
One Last Breath
Please come now I think I'm falling
I'm holding to all I think is safe
It seems I found the road to nowhere
And I'm trying to escape
I yelled back when I heard thunder
But I'm down to one last breath
And with it let me say
Let me say
Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
That maybe six feet
Ain't so far down
I'm looking down now that it's over
Reflecting on all of my mistakes
I thought I found the road to somewhere
Somewhere in His grace
I cried out "Heaven save me"
But I'm down to one last breath
And with it let me say
Let me say
Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
That maybe six feet
Ain't so far down
Sad eyes follow me
But I still believe there's something left for me
So please come stay with me
'Cause I still believe there's something left for you and me
For you and me
For you and me
Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking...
Gabreya:
Hello, ednbarby. That's another good song from Creed. I'm glad you'd beat your depression. And I understand how it makes you think about Heath.
You know what's crazy? I get sad everytime I listen to either of their songs because they've broken up. They were one of the greatest bands ever! :(
