Heh, I heard Gwenyth Paltrow named her kids 'Moses' and 'Apple' because they were 'biblical'.

(apple = garden of eden/forbidden fruit  ::)  sorry, Gwennie, that's not the first thing that pops to mind when people hear someone's name is 'apple'.  What's wrong with Eve or Eden?).

Though, a relative who goes to Catholic School was vehement and declared flatly that the word 'apple' is no where in the Genesis story at all.  It's described as a 'fruit'.  Guess Gwennie didn't want to name her daughter 'Fruit'.

huh?

You know, Barbara is one of those names *no one* names their girls anymore.  Leslie, too.  I hear of a Victoria here and there, though.  And David, Jeffrey (or Geoffrey) and Christopher are still happenin'.  But unless you have a real penchant for naming your daughter after a relative, I don't see Barbara happenin' again for a long time.  If ever.  At least not in this country.  Oh, and by the way, that truly *is* Hebrew, meaning "foreign" or "strange."  Ain't DAT the truth?  ;)

Too true! A colleague of mine had her baby boy yesterday and they called him David! Father is Spanish, mother Belgian. Another colleague had a girl on Monday and she's called Serena. I like it!

Kelda, I agree! I like 'odd' names too. But there are limits!  ::) I like your nieces and sisters name! And yours!

Just read today that Nouvel is supposedly the name of a French architect Pitt admires.
