Jeff Wrangler:
I guess from now on I'll be forever behind in my issues, but I will say here that I enjoyed Ian Buruma's article on FIFA and "football nationalism" in the March 2 issue. I found it very entertaining.

Front-Ranger:
Okay, I'll try not to post spoilers. I was reading "Sweet Nothings" in the March 16 issue about the rise of AI companions (one lady has three AI "husbands" plus one in real life!) and I think I've found a typo! IT says, "Then came the girls and the gays: Siri, Alexa, Claude, Gemini." Shouldn't it be "the guys" rather than "the gays"? Plus I don't think we call people "the gays", that's labeling, right?

I haven't read the article yet (don't know when I'll get to it  ::) ), but from what I know of my fellow gay men, I suspect "gays" may be correct (and therefore not labeling). It wouldn't surprise me in the least if gay men were quicker to adopt these devices for sexual purposes than straight men.

I shouldn't have taken this out of context. The article was talking about the development of AI companions including the "girls" (Alexa, Siri) and the "gays" (Claude, Gemini). Or, at least that's how I interpret it.

Yeah. Again, I haven't yet read the article, but that does suggest that Claude and Gemini are gay.

Huh?  ???
