When I say Holland....

...I think of all the things the others have said.
We toured through the Netherlands (and Belgium) with the motorbike ages ago.
Three more things are in my mind, which weren't mentioned before:
- Bicycles: lots and lots of bicycles. A well developed net of bicycle lanes at a time other countries just started thinking about them (late 80ies). And a toddler and his parents we met on a camping ground (where else?). The boy must have learned walking only a short while ago, he still was insecure on his legs - and the parents put him on a bicycle.
- No curtains: Little red brick houses without curtains at the windows. You could look inside almost every house.
- Drugs in Amsterdam: We got offered everything openly on the streets.

Yes, they love to camp. You wouldn't believe how many cars with "NL" license plates we saw hauling trailers in Norway last summer.

Oh yeah! Dutch people just love to camp. We know that so well because they have to cross Germany to get down south for their summer holidays... ;) Believe me, the German Autobahn is full of Dutch Campers in the summer.
During the FIFA World Cup, of course, thousands of them came with their trailers! :)
One fan-camp was near Wertheim, not too far from where I live:
