This is a very cool thread.  Monika, would you be okay with it being featured on the front page banner in the next week or so?

cool!
I imagine Childress usually don't get a lot of snow?

Last night I finally managed to book my tickets!
I fly to Dallas on June 11th and get there about 8 in the evening. I'll probably spend the night somewhere outside of Dallas and then drive up to Childress on the following day. That will take a while, and then I'll spend the rest of the day exploring the town, find a motel, sleep and then start the looong drive to Riverton during the early hours of June 13. I'll probably leave about 2 or 3 am and see if I can reach Riverton before 5 pm.
Since I won't have Ennis waiting in Riverton, maybe I should actually bring fishing gear Afro

I'll be in the US for a total of six weeks. The first three I'll spend in Wyoming with visits to neighbouring states, then Sophia will join me. We're thinking about perhaps driving to Grand Canyon. We'll then fly to New York together and spend a week there before going back home.

Hopefully time and opportunity will allow for some encounters with Brokies too!

That sounds like a beautiful vacation, and no mistake!  John G. and I will look forward to your visit to NYC, Monika and Sophia.  Meanwhile, have another look-see at this thread of pics of Mikaela's and my trip to Grand Canyon and Monument Valley last spring.  Good inspiration!  Cool

Actually Meryl, I think the idea about going to Grand Canyon was born after seeing your and Mikaelaīs pics!
I dont think I really was interested in going there before I saw them. I remember when you first posted them, I was amazed of how beautiful the area looked. So yes -. very inspirational!
And yay for NY! I think I speak for both Sophia and myself, that a visit to NY does no longer feel complete without meeting up with you guys.

I canīt believe I left my damn shoes up there....

But what can I say, they were simply to heavy to carry with me all the way home to Sweden. But it was a bit sad to leave behind the shoes I wore when hiking Moose Mountain Smiley

Oh yes, bell, sturdy sneakers, bear spray.... laugh
