Has anyone ever been able to make out what it says under the picture of Jesus on that cross hanging on the wall behind Jack's mother in the current picture? The first word is Christ, but I can't make out what it says under the word Christ.

Yes, as a matter of fact.

Initially, I believe it was CaseyCornelius who started a thread called, "Christ in our Home" back in them IMDb days.  But, later, it turned out to say, "Chris is our Hope".

Interestingly enough, Christ in Our Home is the name of a quarterly devotional booklet published by Augsburg Fortress, the publishing wing, I'd guess you'd call it, of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
