Wow!

Thanks to everyone for the good wishes! I feel that I'm having an online party!

Yep - it's a great day with lots of celebrating.

I began the day with a hike with human and canine friends in the alpine meadows and woodlands above the neighborhood hiking - biking trail, then had lunch with friends in a nearby town.

My most amazing present is a star garnet that my friend found in a nearby placer mine. Star garnets are the Idaho state gem, found only in northern Idaho and Sri Lanka.

Plans include Sunday brunch with friends, daughter, and granddaughter at the restaurant of a nearby Indian casino.

Great birthday - and thanks to all of you who help make it even more special!
