All right, I feel old....really old
MaineWriter:
Lat,
Thanks for that interesting information! Peter Tork is still making music, actually, and will be here in Maine this weekend. He was on TV last night which got me started on this whole Monkees thing in the first place.
Yes, Michael Nesmith's mom invented liquid paper, or whiteout. And yes, I have also heard that he had some major role in the development of music videos but I don't have time right now to track down any facts. Anyone else?

The one who wore the hat all the time...what did his mother do?

Mike Nesmith - Michael wore the hat was an excellent musician, became a powerful music producer, didn't know his mother invented liquid paper. That's a new one.
Peter Tork
Mickey Dolenz

I think they all had some music background -- some more than others, maybe -- but despite that it's not them singing or playing on most of their songs, especially the early ones.

I remember seeing the Monkees TV show in reruns. ;D
Leslie, I can understand.....I remember talking to someone younger than me about the 80s pop group Exposé and the reply was "Who"?
So I showed them this video....

They replied, "Never heard of them, but I know the song." and then they showed me this....

I used to LOVE the Monkees! They were my absolute favorite group, and I loved their TV show. I used to cry whenever it was pre-empted for some reason. My favorite Monkee was Peter. They were all so cool! I saw them twice in concert in the 80's when 3 of them were touring - Davey, Peter & Mickey.
