I understand the point of it, but it's just not funny to me.  The fact that this type of behavior is considered fine to do to anyone is just off the wall to me.

The behavior is off the wall to me, too, Chuck, to say the least. The article is not an endorsement of the practice, or even making light of it. Quite the opposite, IMO. It's asking, how could anybody in that situation NOT stop to think about what a horrible thing they're doing.

But it definitely makes that point in a dark way. And with a sort of humor, which hopefully will draw the attention in a way that ordinary headlines and statistics sometimes don't.

But I knew when I posted this article that it wouldn't be for everybody. I had hoped with the title of the thread to warn people that it might seem offensive. I'll change it to say so outright.

Yeah it makes a point quite a few women have known for years.  Men like to have power of life and death over women and women's bodies and don't really think their thinking is bad or wrong.  At best some of them might feel a bit 'off' about it, but that's it and then they'll go have a smoke or drink and forget about it - until the next time.  >:( >:( >:(
