'sweet grasses' is that a particular kind of grass or does it mean clean fresh grass?

Jess, sweet grass can be found growing in many parts of the US; particularly in the plains area of the US where the Lakota lived. It is a type of grass, and it looks a little bit like wheat. It also grows in parts of Europe.  :D

Without looking at the answers (really!), I got "Thinking outside the box" and "Caught between a rock and a hard place." The other two eluded me. Guess I'll have to peek at the answers.

I'm not sure as a young girl I would have wanted a celebration based around my'coming of age' but interesting none the less.

The story is so beautiful, the writing so vivid... I can imagine you listening to the soothing voice of your mother... Makes me all teary-eyed. I have to read it again to let it sink in completely...
