We had an ICE STORM here this morning! A very brief one. But after it was over, I looked out the window and the trees all looked like they had been dipped in silver! They were all silvery looking. I have never seen the trees look like that after an ice storm. Normally they sparkle and twinkle in the sunlight. But today they looked silver. It must have been the way the sun was shining on them. And then, suddenly the ice all melted and the trees were back to normal again. It was very strange.
As far as the winter storm is concerned, the wind has been the worst part for us. Very little snow. Although we did have a sudden burst of snow earlier today and for a few minutes it was total white out conditions. Like a blizzard. In total, we only received a couple of inches, and not all at once either. But the WIND! It has been sooo windy out there. Trees and power lines have been knocked down all across the city. We had wind gusts in excess of 70 mph! And they shook the house sometimes. A few times it felt like an earthquake. The entire house shook and groaned. Awful! The wind is dying down now though, but it is still windy out there.
They said on the news that places like Grand Rapids and Madison may get an additional 2 feet of snow tonight. That is in addition to what they received yesterday. I sure am glad that didn't happen here. It probably will though, eventually. Winter is still very young....
It is currently 18 F outside. The low tonight will be 13 F and a high of 20 F tomorrow. Then it will be back into the upper 30s to lower 40s on Friday. Crazy Indiana!
But those silver trees really were beautiful! I should have taken a picture of it but I can't find my camera. I think I might have left it in Speedway.
