Front-Ranger:
David, isn't it exciting about the Hopewell findings in western Indiana?

David In Indy:
Thanks Chuck! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year too! :-*

How's it going?  I'm playing country songs on youtube for Mom (and for myself).  She endured several repeats of Wainwright's Hallelujah, so it's only fair.

My sleep schedule is so messed up I may never get it squared away again.   ;)

Happy 2011.

Lynnie

Happy 2011 to you too, Lynne! I hope the music session with your Mom turned out well!!

I didn't hear about this Lee! They haven't mentioned it at all on the local news (as far as I know). Last week they were busy talking about the little 3.8 "earthquake" we had here (I never even felt it) but I haven't heard anything about this discovery.

I am familiar with Angel Mounds. I went there several times when I lived in Evansville. They were a Missisippian tribe. They were in Indiana for a very long time and then they suddenly disappeared. Nobody really knows what happened. One theory is that Indiana had a much warmer climate back when they lived here. Then at some point the climate changed and became much colder and they left the area. It's just one of several theories floating around out there. Anyway, Angel Mounds is interesting. They have a reconstructed Mississipian village you can walk through. And of course the mounds are there, and a museum.

CellarDweller:

Happy Valentine's Day, David!
