awwww... well Hugh, can't win em all!

MaineWriter:
I watched my taped Viva Laughlin and I have to say...it was pretty bad. Hugh was in the show for about 3 minutes and the two videos that are on this thread cover about 2/3rds of his part in the show. The only other bit was a gambling sequence at the end. The singing part wasn't as awful as everyone said...I kind of liked it, actually. But the acting was really lame and the story even lamer. I can see why CBS gave this the axe.

Melanie Griffith has lips all puffed up with collagen and looks completely unnatural. Ew.

Now that Viva Laughlin is dead, dead, dead, I guess we will have to turn all our attention to Wolverine!

From an Australian newspaper....I don't get it. No kids?

HOLLYWOOD hunk Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness have just put some serious Zen into their jetsetting lives by staking their claim on an exclusive patch of celebrity nirvana on the Goldy.

The Hollywood heavy-hitter and Deb have recently become part-owners of the exclusive Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat in Tallebudgera Valley which is set on 160ha on a plateau with ocean and valley views.

Seven's Sunrise host David Koch and fashion designer Peter Morrissey are among its regulars.

"When they (Hugh and Deb) came here they loved it. They loved it so much they wanted to be part of it," Gwinganna marketing manager Tracy Willis told Qconfidential.

Hugh discovered the private hideaway last year while performing in The Boy From Oz in Brisneyland.

But despite the investment and his Hollywood A-list credentials, he's treated "like any other guest" and must abide by the retreat's strict "no children" policy. And as yet he and Furness haven't tried to sneak their son Oscar and daughter Ava into the health farm.

MaineWriter:
They have quotes from Hugh on the Gwinganna website!

"I originally came for three days and stayed over a week. I wish it was longer!! I can honestly say that whilst I was hoping for a rest, I am leaving not only rested but with a whole new outlook on life. The place, the people, the whole experience here has been nothing short of extraordinary – oh, did I mention the food? Out of this world! Thank you Gwinganna!”

Debra-Lee Furness arrives for AFI Awards

December 06, 2007 12:00am

THE stellar cast of the Australian film industry is cranking up for tonight's AFI awards, with some of the big screen's biggest stars checking in to the city's hotels.

Debra-Lee Furness was seen checking into the Langham Hotel in Southbank, ahead of tonight's extravaganza at Melbourne's Exhibition Centre.

Her husband Hugh Jackman is nominated for the International Award for Best Actor for his role in The Prestige.

He is up against Eric Bana for Lucky You, Nip/Tuck star Julian McMahon and Prison Break star Dominic Purcell for the International Award for Best Actor.

It is not know yet if Jackman or his co-star Nicole Kidman will be attending tonight's award ceremony.

Fellow Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett will definitely be there though, after travelling from the Sydney premiere of her new Bob Dylan biopic I'll Be There.

Other confirmed guests include Anthony LaPaglia, Eric Bana, Joel Edgerton, Brendan Cowell and Geoffrey Rush, who has taken on host duties for the second year running.
