Yes, actually I was thinking that very thing this morning. I don't see direct sun at 5 a.m., but in summer I often wake up at that hour (not actually
get up, mind you) because the sky is getting light.
I used to get woken in May and June by birds loudly chirping and I'd have to turn on the noise-machine app on my cell phone next to the bed to drown them out (in addition to the actual fan across the room that I always have running when I'm trying to sleep). Then the building maintenance buys put cages over all the air vents, many of which housed birds, including the one next to my open bedroom window. So I wake up less often and when I do the noise isn't bad.
