--- Quote from: Penthesilea on October 28, 2006, 01:01:21 pm ---Are 8 blastomere cells a human being? If so,  human beings are destoyed ("killed", as the opponents say) for ESC research.

--- End quote ---

Sam Harris discusses the blastomere (the group of 8 cells is a single blastomere) and makes a witty retort, which I paraphrase:  Opponents of stem-cell research are worried that using a blastomere for research is to kill a human being.  But  they don't realize that they themselves are committing entire holocausts every time they scratch their nose.

Bump...

so M J Fox's advert did no harm to Claire McCaskill... who won..and her opponent Limbaugh's did not!

well this week Rush came up with this one...PARAPHRASING>

"Liberals are aborting themselves into extinction. they know this. That is why they want to take over our kids. that is why they want to take over the schools."

well if he really believes that then he should be FOR abortion...since only liberals have abortions.

then on the next days show he said that they are studying to see if being liberal or conservative is genetic. He said that maybe that was why liberals abort their own kids so they can get the conservatives kids. better dna...

and yes I know this is out of context and not word for word what he said...just the general idea of what he said.

and on the subject of taking things out of context...he does all the time...half his show is taking things 'out of context'

there is not a news show on the planet that doesn't....you can't play the entire speech of every politician on an half hour show!
