Heath Ledger has reportedly married partner Michelle Williams in secret.
The media-shy star recently applied for a marriage licence in Brooklyn where he owns a house, according to The New York Post.
The couple met on the set of the award winning Brokeback Mountain in 2004 and have a 14-month-old daughter Matilda.
The new family have avoided the spotlight following Ledger's now infamous run in with water-pistol shooting paparazzi.
Ledger reportedly sold his Bronte mansion due to press intrusion and the couple are now based in Brooklyn where they own a home on Cobble Hill.
Rumours of a low-key wedding have been circulating for some time with friends saying the pair would marry at a local church and then have a party at River Cafe.
A source told the US tabloid that Ledger has been seen wearing a wedding ring while taking the couple's daughter Matilda for a walk.
Representatives for the couple were unavailable for comment.

This was on E! NEWs tonight too. They showed a close up of Heath's hand with the plain gold band and said that when the reps for both Michelle and Heath were contacted instead of just saying NO it's not true, they instead said "we are not in the habit of commenting on the private lives of our clients"....sounds like it could be true. If so I say good for them, they're both very private so I am glad they were able to pull it off without any intrusion. All the best to them :D
