.... when you recognize other freaks without a doubt
.
Friday night, my daughter and I went to an ice-hockey game. When we came to our seats, a pre-game show had already begun. Very unusual, normally there isn't anything before the game, except for music from the loud speakers. At first it didn't make much sense to me, there were people in Star Wars costumes marching on the ice, dramatic music, fire effects, light-sabers, yada-yada. Then the players came in, rushing through the phalanx of Star Wars figures.
And then it dawned on me: this isn't related to the team, any sponsors, the game or whatever. Those are Star Wars freaks, a private group, just like Trekkies or us Brokies. I knew it without a doubt. And sure enough, during the first break, one of those guys was interviewed. Yes, they're a group of fans, finding each other and communicating on the internet, meeting each other on
Brokie gatherings conventions, etc.
My daughters eyes almost popped out when she heard that I was right.
Now, I have heard of "gaydar". Seems there is also something like a "freak-dar"
