A few years ago, the teachers were asked to fill out a survey concerning the number of hours they put in in a typical week (actually, it was an hour by hour survey for a specific week) - the results of which indicated that the average teacher put in over 50 (55?) hours a week. When spread out over the year, it was calculated that teachers put in just a bit more time one the job per year than the average (full time) worker.

Now let's talk about the TYPE of work involved. Ever hear or burnout? Teachers don't remain teachers long - the retaining rate for new teachers is quite low. The stress levels are quite high. You don't think the summer months are needed by the teachers - try getting rid of them & see what remains of teacher retention then!

OK I'm getting off my soapbox now - gotta finish class preparations before leaving for the day.

Hee hee!!

oh I got him all stirred up this morning!!

Heck, there is no way in Hades I would be able to teach school....I'd be whipping every kid in sight before lunch the first day!

Bad storm here....gotta get off the computer...

Roland I hope you know I am just teasing you...I know teachers work very hard and aren't paid near what they are worth!!

Have a good one, sweetie!
