Aguirre surname
opinionista:
What does Aguirre mean? Well, for those who don't know it is a basque last name and it means open space or pasture. It comes from the word agir in Basque language. However, my dear friend from Bilbao assures me the name also refers to a high place, some thing like the top of a mountain. In that sense it could be symbolic, considering Aguirre was Ennis and Jack's boss.

May I say this concerning the name: Aguirre:
Aguirre, I may have solve some of it, as in my Petit-Larousse (French dictionnary from France, known and greatly used in French-Canada and published in 1959), aguerrir is the verb: Accoutumer à la guerre which as I am translating it myself:
to accostom to war!! Wow, wow!!
And, you think it is Basque??
Hugs!

It is a Basque lastname. It is not something I think. There's documentation about it. In fact, I added a link on my first post. In Spain everyone knows Aguirre is Basque.
