Title: And what's this?
Post by: Penthesilea on June 19, 2007, 07:35:25 am
Sorry, I have only one pic. But the thing looks the same from the other side and you can judge it's dimensions by the hand.

It looks like a measuring instrument to me. But, I don't think I've been correct ONE TIME with these, so maybe the rest of you should vote for something else!

I never get these right either, but I voted for the drawing tool for this one.

I'm voting for the drawing instrument because it sort of makes sense to me. (http://bestsmileys.com/art/1.gif)

I cannot image stuffing it down the throat of a goose or grabbing a rabbits leg and stretching it along the stick.  Darning hook for gloves, maybe but only if the gloves belong to the Jolly Green Giant...Have to a pretty special can if that would open it considering there is nothing there to puncture the can with or to cut through the metal. Sooooo, yep by a process of elimination I'm voting for the drawing instrument :D

That's a good answer too Dottie. But it has those little thingies sticking out of it, and this makes me think it's a measuring instrument to calculate distances on scaled maps.

I could be wrong though. I normally am!

Nobody guessed it right. But for your brave guesses, I have a little reward for you. A video of how this can opener is used:

The voice explains that this can opener is used mostly in the Mediterranean area, esp. in Spain. It's used by housewifes who are afraid to ruin their finger nails  ::)  ;D

Oh thank goodness for that!  I didn't think of those types of cans ... I was thinking along the lines of beans!!

See ... Bettermost is educational as well as fun!

Me, too .
I couldn't imagine how you can open a can with it when I read it is a can opener.
To be fair, I had added "for special kinds of cans".
