Now this is what I'm talking about! Jennifer Holliday performs "And I Am Telling You" from the original Broadway Musical "Dreamgirls" for the 1982 Tony Awards.

People who saw her back then say it was the most exciting moment in musical theatre.  She still sings it in concert.  Here she is 25 years later, singing it before the 2007 Oscars:
