Title: Horses Stamped Envelopes
Post by: ptannen on December 07, 2007, 01:46:04 am
I just received a letter that was sent in this great Horses Stamped Envelope!  They are available from the post office for 50 cents each (that includes the 41 cents postage) and they cost less the more you buy.   ;D

In 2007 the U.S. Postal Service will issue a new first-class envelope. The imprinted stamp, intended to represent the theme of American freedom, depicts three galloping horses silhouetted against a flat backdrop of stylized mountains under a cloud-dappled sky.

The image of the horse has been used throughout the ages to symbolize many things—among them are strength, speed, agility, beauty, and—perhaps especially in America—freedom.

Thanks, Meryl.  I haven't been on Bettermost lately, but I will return after the New Year.  I leave Mon. for 3 weeks to Antarctica and Buenos Aires.
