Great idea Chuck.......I have no doubt the brokies and Heathens here will participate in a similar way.
I requested the day off work so I could celebrate my guy. I'd hope to get my tattoo on that day but couldn't get in. I might have to get a little something that day.
Just bumping this up as a reminder.
I'll be posting a pic of me in my "Heath-esque" outfit as well.
Here is my Heath inspired outfit today.
Heath wore a lot of stripes, so I have a striped button down.
Heath wore combat boots, so I have on my boots.
Heath wore "quirky" accessories (hats, scarfs) so I have on rubber braclets to match the outfit.

I've got my stripes on today. Every day, I drive past Heath St. in Boston. Today, I smiled.
Notice the name on the train:

I recognised the Boston subway, I was there in April last year, around this time!!! :-*
His journey's just begun
Don't think of him as gone away -
His journey's just begun
Life holds so many facets
This earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
From the sorrow and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
That we could know today
How nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away.
And think of him as living
In the hearts of those he touched...
For nothing loved is ever lost -
And he was loved so much.

“Such rare talent, lost too soon”
For Heath, his family, friends, and Brokies everywhere.
Late will post pics of my breakfast with the Brokie formerly and recurringly known as Ellemeno and our ocean tribute to this much loved and admired Heath.

Yesterday didn't go the way I wanted. My son and I were both unwell and so we both stayed at home the whole day. I didn't get out of my sweatsuit but at least wore my striped socks.
Instead, I wore stripes today. A striped longsleeve shirt and my purple striped scarf.
Never enough stripes, never enough. :)
Are you and your son feeling better, Chrissi?
Instead, I wore stripes today. A striped longsleeve shirt and my purple striped scarf.
I never wear horizontal stripes (it's an "I think they make me look fat" thing), but I wore a red striped shirt purchased specially for Heath's birthday, and so many people commented on how much they liked my shirt.
Not sure. For the last 4 years or so, I have volunteered as 'face-painter' in the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFFF - www.bifff.org). I am not at all into this kind of movies, but it's fun because for one night (usually the Friday to Saturday) people who want to attend the festival's ball ("Vampires Ball") have to be dressed up and their face painted. With a group of volunteers we do just that all night through. Painting faces (mostly horror-film-related faces.. ). The volunteers have to have their faces painted too.
Anyhow, this year's festival's ball is on the 5th (a Saturday - if it had been on the traditional Friday it would have been on Heath's birthday), but I am thinking of having "The Dark Knight"'s Joker face painted on me, but I am hesitant. It would all be too morbid, kind of... :-\
If I sense that I'll chicken out I'll buy something striped before the 4th and wear it that day.

I chickened out. Partially. The shirt I'm wearing is striped though. You can't see it but it is. Also, I painted my mouth kind of like the Joker, but didn't paint my eyes black. It would have been too sad..
Very nice pictures everyone!

The next day was sad and depressing as hell. I cried for a good part of it because I felt so empty and let down. I think I was under the impression that doing all of that would make me feel better about the situation but it didn't because at the end of the day he was still gone. Go figure...
Additionally to wearing stripes I had planned to hang a little cowboy hat into a tree on the fields were I walk my dog. It's made of plastic and I put a hole in it with a heated needle. I'll use a nylon thread and hope it will hang there for a long time. Will do this on Monday.
On the "Planet Heath" thread on DCF, we were discussing what to do to remember Heath on what would've been his birthday.
Many of his pics, you can see Heath wearing stripes. So we've decided that on April 4th, we'll all go to work/school or any other appointments in a Heath themed outfit. Those who want to are going to post pics of themselves in their Heath themed outfits.
I will have a black & grey striped shirt, and combat boots (Heath was often photographed in boots or distinctive shoes).
Please post up here if you want to particpate in this way, to remember Heath.
I wish I could have seen Heath in a mature man's role. :'(
