Title: "What is it?" for July ****ANSWER POSTED!!*****
Post by: David In Indy on July 15, 2008, 11:55:01 pm: We did a bunch of these "What is it" polls last year and everyone seemed to have fun with them. So, I thought I'd post another one just for fun! :D

Take a look at the picture below and then try to guess what it is. I will post the answer some time late next week.

This object is approximately 42 inches tall and made mostly of wood.

A capstan!

Handspikes were inserted into the holes, it was then turned to bring up the anchor or move other heavy objects.

Lambs may be exchanged for kitties (or ponies) down at the corner pet shop! Just take your lamb in there and tell them David and Bettermost said it is okay! ;) :D

He cornered one in the back yard about a month ago and we BOTH got it!! The skunk nailed us both.

But I never get any cute, furry little creatures dropping in to say hello. About the only furry creatures I see at my place are the obnoxious huntsman spiders that live in the trees. And them I can well and thoroughly do without! >:(

I do see the occasional fruit bat fly by at night. They have fur but are definitely not cute. And they smell. :P

It's ok sweetie. Just the other day I reported how much I love lamb on the 1000+ thread. ;D They thaste good with chanterelles and tomatoes ;D.

No, I would never ... not this one. It's from my friend David and from Ennis and Jack ... it will live in my backyard and I will pamper it till it dies of old age!

Thank you for the sweet lamb David. I will cherish it and NOT exchange it for a pony.
