Wow! I'm so honored to see this here...
Number 20 is missing though and I like that it turns #8 into Mr. Sunglasses. ;D
-
#20. "little girl's gettin' married....hunh?!"
-
This is just too good to remain buried.
-
Awww! Great bump Lee!
:D ;D 8)
The philosophical issue here may be... does he say 'huh' or 'hunh'? Or does he switch off? Does 'huh' mean something different from 'hunh'? The way I see it... 'hunh' is more of a question.
;D

I agree, "huh" is more of a punctuation mark. Tell you what, I was just rereading the story (boy is it getting dog-eared!) and I can not find a single instance of Ennis saying "huh" OR "hunh." Do you suppose this is an instance of Heath improvisation? If so, I think it really works well.
-
I want to credit Paul Montferrat and me for starting the Ennis hunh Catalogue back on IMDb, but big, big credit goes to Jimmy SpookyRabbit for sittin' with his DVD (before the rest of us had one!!!) and clocking the times and finding several more. I MISS PAUL AND I MISS SPOOKY. Alot.
About Heath and hunh - I remember having a conversation with someone here about another Heath movie where we both noticed his use of "hunh" at the ends of a couple of sentences, that sounded pretty Ennis-ian. But now I can't remember what movie it was. Can you?

Was it The Lords of Dogtown ? I've returned the DVD to the library, so I can't check, but it seems like I remember a "hunh" or two...

Yes, Fern! I think that was it. Muchas gracias. I thought he was great (so different) in that movie.

I did, too, Elle. Gotta admit I found the teeth distracting, but other than that...I thought Heath created a moving, nuanced character in a role that in other hands could easily have been simply a caricature.

His last scene (I think the last) when he is working on that surfboard, and he goes through a range of feelings just with his face and body, no words, shows his skill as an actor. Not to mention his shoulder muscles as a man. :)

Hunh?
-
David, you've been posting some real beauts the last couple of days - spot on to the moment.
-
Bumping a fun old classic.
:D
-
bumping, to read, and cry...
:'(

Could Heath have wanted to say as Ennis:
There are times where it matters?
When?
Hugs!

So down about the awful news, but at least this gave me a smile....sigh...
here's to you Heath , one final "Hunh?"

We have missed you Paul. Thanks for coming back. Don't be a stranger.
