I just found out about the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India (formerly called Bombay), which is where our lovely Reanna is from. At least 7 bombs exploded on trains there yesterday and killed 190 people. She happens to be in New York right now, so is thankfully safe, even though being away is probably very hard at this time too. I just wanted to send out my heartfelt prayers and wishes to Reanna and her loved ones, and to everyone in Mumbai, for healing from the shock and trauma of the attacks, and for safety to return to Mumbai.
With love,
Jenny

I know first hand what is to have a terrorist attack happening near your home. The train station where the commuter trains were exploded in Madrid in 2004 is 15 minutes away from where I live. Some of my friends saved their lives because they got up late that morning and missed the train. So, my heart goes to Reanna too, and I really hope her people and loved ones are safe and sound.

Whatever terrorists want to achieve with their killing or innocent lives, they failed because people are united regardless the nationality and religion. We have seen that after 9/11, after Madrid bombing, after London bombing, and we are seeing that again after Mumbai.
My heart out to Reanna, to all my friends who have loved ones in Mumbai, and to the people in Mumbai.
I don't mean to be critical, but am I the only one that notices the Mumbai bombing is no longer on the homepage of CNN? I remembered that the news dominated all major news outlets for quite a few days after Madrid and London bombing.

That's how the news work. Once there's a more dramatic and recent event, it becomes top priority, and whatever was in the headlines before, becomes old news even if it isn't. Also, the war Israel's attacks on Lebanon is more importat for the American government than the terrorist attacks in India.

Nope, you are not the only one.
CNN is not my choice for news - I only stumble on there sometimes to catch a glimpse of Anderson Cooper's show.
I prefer BBC news any day.

True. CNN news is very US centric. And tell me about Anderson Cooper ;), though I like Anderson Cooper in the fields better.

I will just echo these sentiments myself. Thanks for posting this Jenny. All good wishes, Reanna.

What Jenny said. Reanna, I hope your family and friends escaped this insanity. Many hugs and healing prayers are going out to you and to your hurting home city. Not only Mumbai needs healing, but the whole world. :'(

Reanna, I miss you and did think of you right away when I saw the headlines. Prayers for your city. Love, Clarissa

Absolutely appalled at what happened in India.
There is a special place in hell for the monsters who do such things.
Cheers to the people of India for refusing to be intimidated away from living their lives as normally as possible.
Prayers for Reanna that she and hers are safe.

Thank you all so much for your wishes, truly very kind of you....
I'm in New York at the moment and I actually wish I was there in Mumbai right now to help out. I was quite a wreck when i heard the other day - Several of my friends do take the train in the evening and two of the stations that were bombed are right next to my house. Fortunately all of them are safe. I sspoke to my family (it was actually my mom's birhtday the day it happened) and they are all fine and said the city was as resilient as ever. The people of my city are strong and I know they will bounce back.....But the fact that innocent people die because of these horrible terrorist acts sickens me....Be it anywhere in the world. It's just horrible...
Thanks again you all....lots of love to each and every one of you...

I'm a bit late, but Reanna, I too am happy to read that all your family and friends are doing fine! I hope you have nice people around you now, who can be there for you, if you need them.
I have a Lebanese friend here in Belgium who has family in Lebanon and right now, he's is not in a good mood. No contact with his parents. Only his sister in London managed to contact them in Beyrouth. I don't want anything more to happen!
TERROR is NOT the answer! DAMN! >:(

Reanna, I'm relieved to hear that your family and friends weren't affected. Thanks for checking in and letting us know.

It's beyond horrible. The fact that it's become commonplace as a way to get attention for a cause is more horrible still. It seems that human life was never held more cheaply than now. :'(

Indeed! What a troubling time ... :'(
The world is just gone crazy, it’s beyond my comprehension.

Reanna,
I am glad to hear you say that your friends and family are safe.
As you say, it is sad that innocent people continue to die in the hands of these terrorists.
When will it end? I keep asking myself .. where is the love? :'(
Take care of yourself bud!

Reanna, I am a bit late too, but happy to hear you and yours are fine. I still feel for those who were killed, or maimed, or knew someone who was. As Del said, there is a place in hell for people who commit such crimes - murders. And as YOU said, wherever they may be!
-
Thanks for checking in Reanna! We were all pretty worried about you.
I'm glad to hear you and your loved ones are all safe.
-
i'm just digging this out - as i was just reminded by Jenny newyearsday that reanna lives in Mumbai.
I'm praying reanna and those close to her are well. :-*
-
Thanks, Kelda, Reanna has been on my mind, too.
Reanna, I hope you'll check in with us soon and let us know how you and your family are doing. Lots of hugs and support are coming your way from us here.

I'm glad you are alright. Terrorism is awful.

I'm hoping she will check in, too.
