Found this on IMDB, hopefully it'll happen as noted!

Too bad it's post-holiday season, but "deleted scenes"....cool new year's gift!

Wow, that's what we're all waiting for 8)
"all-new-bonus-features" , "never-before-seen-footage" - that's exactly what we want, and much of it :)
Hopefully this edition will be available not only for the US-market, but also for us Europoeans (please, please, please).
-
I am so looking forward to that :o - thanks for posting the link!

Is there any indication a "director's cut" will be released that includes some new scenes actually edited into the film rather than just available for viewing out of context?
-
WOW... well thank god. It's about time. This is what they should've released to begin with.
Thanks for posting that info...
I wanted to sort of confirm it myself, so I looked to see if anyone else was advertising it. I found (Googled) these...

Sorry for the thread necromancy, and yes the 2-Disc Special edition wasn't that special. But this isn't about that.
I didn't think it was worth creating a new thread to vent, so I'm posting in this little forgotten thread that is caked with dust and cobwebs. Basically, what I wanted to say is:
I HOPE THERE WILL BE A BLU-RAY FORMAT RELEASE OF BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN FOR NORTH AMERICA ONE DAY!!!!
That is all.

Hi kula!! Sure, we like to revive old threads all the time!!
We have a hi-def version of the movie which we showed at the BBQ in Colorado last year, and we're planning to show it again this year in Wyoming, at our Roundup at the foot of Brokenback Mountain. It is my understanding that hi-def is actually superior in quality to Bluray, but losing in the marketplace anyway. I also invested in Betamax technology too, doubt if anybody would know what that is. Me buying a cutting-edge electronic gizmo is usually the kiss of death for it! ::)

Blue-ray is here to stay....High Def is dead......on that note anyone know if BBM will be released in Blue-ray? Any rumours if they'll actually have another release with decent extras on it? Still waiting for that jam packed special release. :-\

I sure hope that they release it out on Bluray soon.
